Boxy Pouch fun

As a follow-up post to the previous one about the tote bag, I also whipped up a few of these little boxy pouches. They are super easy. It was my first attempt with using zippers - of which I was formerly afraid of using - but discovered it's a cinch. I used THIS tutorial.

After making three of the pouches (which were given away at the mom's gathering) I got smarter and used some ribbon on each side of the zipper for easier opening/closing. Dan thought they were cool and so I revamped the size and made one for him as a pencil pouch and then two others with some scrap fabric for the kids to put little toys in.

Tonight I have planned to put together an apron which was a small piece of "business" that I got from the sewing things I made for the mom's gathering. Cool. If this were to become something I do regularly for $, it would certainly have to be scheduled into my 'normal' routine of life. I love sewing, but I can be one of those people who set their minds to doing something and go at it, perhaps to the neglect of other things.

*and contrary to what it may look like, the blue pouch is not a bunch of bugs, they are owls - hoot.
